I had a wonderful four years working for Peter in the Department of Foreign Affairs. The memories I have from that time are cherished and will remain with me forever.

Rather he would pay a private visit to the family .
His Christmas Eve visits to Liam Russell's shop was memorable as both icons of Cork with long history with Fine Gael would chat in Irish surrounded by the bussle and buzz of fellow native citizens
Margaret and Peter proudly, yet humbly, represented Cork with class, common decency, integrity and sincerity

Our extended families met on many occasions, deepest sympathy from ours to yours. I will never forget the tea chests which will always be Barry's to us. May he rest in peace. Days get easier with the passing of time.

I remember Peter Barry very well from my years working in Leinster House. He was a thorough gentleman that was well respected by all. The last time I saw him was on a visit to Cork last year when he arrived to a restaurant surrounded by his family .
My deepest sympathy to all his family but particularly Deirdre and Conor whom I knew better. He is a sad loss and my prayers and thoughts are with you all at this sad time.

Peter Barry was a Gentleman who I had the honour to know for 0ver 40 years.We were both Proud Rockies and wherever our paths crossed in our beloved Cork or our adopted home from home in Dublin he was still the same gentle caring man who has given our country sterling service.
