RIP Mr Softie, I always used to remember going in my house when he arrived to tell my Mam (RIP) that the ice cream man was here and she would ask me what I wanted off him and I told her and she would get me what I want plus the nice ice-cream that was provided.

A great brother inlaw and a fantastic Family man . Rest in eternal peace

An absolute gentleman with the kindest soul, so good to everyone. A Legend.
He wouldnt pass ye by without a beep a huge wave and the friendliest smile.

Rest in peace Mr Softie, you were a huge part in all the childhoods of kids on Berryfield Road. Every Friday we would get a few icecreams and empty cones to share. Then on a Sunday we would all queue up with our bowls to fill up. I doubt he made a profit at all.

My Deepest condolences to Peter family. My foundest memory of Peter (Sofie) is rushing out to get ice-cream and he knew everyone of street. On Sundays mam's off street use send kids out with bowl to fill up. Peter had best ice-cream. But it was always how he interact with kids. Me he always said how boyfriends you got lol when I hadn't even one. Even as adult get ice-cream of him he still says that. He sold ice-cream to kids from Finglas in 70s,80,,90s then there kids. Sofie to people of Finglas is legend. Best ice-cream man. Everyone liked him. So sad hearing this. RIP Peter aka Sofie. Best Ice-cream man.

So Sorry for your Lost my deepest condolences - One of my childhood memories of Woodbank Drive are all of us rushing to get there 1st, one year i was asked to tag along by Peter on his rounds I was amazed how well he knew everyone and how generous and kind he was to everyone. A true Gent. GBNF.

A gentle soul and i have lovely memories of my girls running up from No 4 on a Saturday morning to get an ice-cream before he set off on his rounds. He was so generous and kind.
