Peter Burke

I don’t quite know what to say. As with so many others, Peter was my Biology teacher up to Leaving Certificate in Belvedere. Life can be so cruel and is all too short. My thoughts are with his family, friends and everyone who knew and loved him.

Deepest sympathies to Ronan and the Burke family. Peter was a true friend to me many years ago when one was needed. No doubt that his good deeds paved a golden path to his eternal reward. His generous soul now rests in the hands of his Creator.

To Ronan and family, so sorry to hear this news. Mr Burke was our biology teacher in Belvedere - many fond memories of him towering at the the white board in the biology lab. Such a wise, patient and kind man. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Peter was such a special person and I'm sure that he will be missed by all his family and friends. He was always looking out for people and I know that he was so kind to me when I started in Belvedere. He always had time for everyone. He was a man of tall stature but a gentle giant with a hearty laugh.

I was so shocked to hear of Peter's sudden death. We were only messaging each other the previous day to arrange a meeting for the following week to go through the hall's monthly finances. Peter was a super community person who was highly valued for his wisdom and knowledge. We will miss him deeply. RIP Peter

My deepest sympathies to Ronan on the death of Peter. My dad Fergus and Peter were great friends and both loved politics but more importantly understood the positive impact public representatives can make on peoples lives.
Peter was a distinguished City Councillor and gave great service to his community.

It is with great sadness that I have learned of the sudden and tragic death of Peter. I extend to all the Burke Family, and to all the people of his very beloved Mourne Road Parish and the wider Drimnagh Community my sincere and prayerful sympathy at this time. Peter was a true and gifted leader for his community. I had many experiences of his great human qualities when I was Parish Priest there. May he and Cora rest in the Lord's eternal peace.

My uncle Bernard always spoke well of Peter as a colleague, and it was was comforting to see Peter at Bernard’s funeral back in December. I’m sorry to hear that has passed himself so soon afterwards.

My deepest sympathy to Ronan, Helen and the Burke family. It was a great shock to hear of Peter's sudden passing. He returned from America to take up the position of Biology teacher in Belvedere College. He was an excellent teacher and a great colleague and was extremely well organised.
He organised the annual lunch for retired teachers.
His life was one of service to others, to his family, in his professional occupation and in his local community. He would never have sought gratitude for it.
Please God he will be rewarded for it all. May the Lord have mercy on his soul. May he rest in peace.
