Very sad to hear of the passing of Peter, one of life’s true gentlemen

I was a colleague of Peters at IIRS for many years and we met frequently after we left that establishment. He was a good friend and great company.

Whenever I think of Peter I remember a storm, a pelting, window rattling storm. I remember Peter arriving at our house in London surrounded by that rain. His glasses fogged up, his beard wet, his black coat dripping onto the floor. He was smiling. He was laughing. He was happy and within seconds we all were happy. He must have been tired waiting for an interchange flight, he probably couldn’t wait for a moment alone but he spent that evening making everyone laugh and teaching me chords to my unused guitar. He injected life everywhere he went, he bubbled with enthusiasm. It was impossible to not love Peter, to be made better and happier by him. I will miss him, learn from him and remember him for who he was. A loving, funny, brilliant man who made every room better for his presence.
My deepest sympathies to my wonderful Aunt, my cousins, his grandchildren, his many friends. I hope we can all take heart in our memory of Peter, a man who I will forever remember alongside a smile, laughter and happy times.

Very sorry to hear of Peter's passing and we pass our sympathies to Clair, the children and grandchildren, Joseph, Margaret and Anne.

We have many happy memories of Peter. I'll mention being his pillion passenger on the motorbike at Fahan as one that will never be forgotten because it was such great fun.
