I was so sad to hear about Peters sad passing. He was such a lovely person with an infectious smile. We have wonderful memories of Peter in our family growing up acting in many plays with Dad (Binkie) in St Patrick Players.

I was saddened to hear of Peter’s passing. We were in the same year in Institute of Horology in Blanchardstown in the 70’s. In later years I came across his name in dramatic circles even though our paths didn’t cross. A big presence, witty & funny.

I was saddened by the news of the loss of Peter after his brave and courageous battle. He was a wonderful friend through school and there are many memories of that time. We were truly touched when Peter came to England to see our production of his script, Grimstone Halt, and flattered by his kind words and encouragement. He was a great talent, and having a script written by someone who understood the limitations of village hall dramatics was a delight.

More importantly he was clearly a wonderful man and our thoughts are with you all.

Nora, Peter’s beloved, he was one of a kind. He always greeted me with “Ah, here’s young Maroomick”, his ability to story tell like no other.

Determining the fact from fiction of those stories was the tricky part- but that was a mere detail, the entertainment and chuckles were high.

I joined an interview on the Joe Duffy show with somebody called Peter who was talking about his condition in the most frank and candid way……yet the effect was so uplifting I still recall it to this day and always will I suspect. As the interview went on I realised it was Peter Robbie, whom I didn’t actually know but I recognised as Johnnie and Dave’s brother. I regret I never knew him as to have known him must have been one of life’s treasures. To Nora I offer our thoughts and condolences in the hope it might offer some succour.

His bravery, positivity and humour in telling of his diagnosis and treatment on Radio and Social Media to raise awareness of mens cancer and also to raise much needed funds for cancer research was so typically selfless and will have helped so very many others.
His funny and witty yarns on Greystones Facebook pages and his Michellin type Good Food guides on where to eat in Greystones will be missed by us all, but in his honour we will continue to tell these ' Purveyors of Fine Fayre " that ' Petie send us' !

My deepest condolences to Nora, David & Johnnie as well as Andrew and all the gang at Nordeal Ltd on the passing of the wonderful Peter.

I’m so deeply saddened by this loss. We’ve had the pleasure of working with Peter for over 20 years, and every single interaction was nothing short of pure enjoyment.

Over the past few days, I’ve found myself reading back over old emails from him — and my God, what a funny man he was. I sent him an email once about a job, and he replied to say that I had interrupted his weekly Nordeal manicure. He also told me he needed time to come up with a suitable title for me, as he had already crowned my dad "The Emperor."

Then, out of the blue, I received an email declaring that my title would be Wang — “The Emperor and his Wang.” When my daughter was born, he sent a beautiful congratulatory message and bestowed her the title of Wangette.

Honestly, on reflection, I wouldn’t be surprised if ChatGPT was modeled on Peter’s literary genius.

I am really, really going to miss him.
