Peter Chatterton

Down through the years we recall with affection chats and meetings with Peter in the marina who always had something new and interesting to discuss not least his beautiful classic sail boat moored off shore.

Tony, Maureen, Aimee and Blair, I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I really wish I could have been there in person, because Peter was always a friend to me, on my many visits to Portaneena, over the years. He always had some interesting little project to show me and ask advice about, or failing that, a curio he’d picked up somewhere, to give me. Both Sandra and I have very fond memories of our times in Portaneena and Peter was a central element to many of them. A very sad loss.

Peter was a good friend for many years. We met every Tuesday for tea and a chat and I missed our meet up time after his recent move to Ballymahon. He was also a dedicated member of Athlone Sub Aqua Club, ready to be of help when needed. I am incredibly saddened at Peter's sudden passing and I offer my condolences to his family. I will miss him. So sorry to hear of Peters passing. Lucky to have known him through his many years with Athlone Sub Aqua Club, he was always one of the first to lend a hand whether it was fundraising or safety cover on the water. Always a gent, his presence will be missed.
