Dear Natasha, Mary and family, I am so sorry to hear of Peter’s sudden passing and very sorry that I couldn’t make it to his funeral. Thinking of you all. May he rest in peace.

My deepest sympathies to each & every one of you Peter's immediate family on his very sudden passing. I used to meet him at the Michael Commins Concerts in the Salthill Hotel & later the Clayton Hotel he had a nice voice to sing a song, we were also facebook friends. Seven weeks ago he sent me good wishes for my birthday & my retirement from the Irish Wheelchair Association. Little did I think his end was going to come so soon. May he rest in peace.

Sincere condolences to Mary and the Lydon family on the sad passing of Peter. When he came to Tuam we'd meet for a chat. He put together a great collection of showband recordings for me. Especially, any that had a Tuam connection. Its a brilliant thing to have and i treasure it. We always had good craic at the Michael Commins nights in the Salthill Hotel and later at the Clayton. Great memories. Rest easy Peter.

I was very shocked and saddened to hear of Peter’s passing. He had asked me to pray for him on Sunday night. He was a real gentleman and will be missed at Michael Commin’s concerts. Sincere sympathy to Mary and all of Peter’s family. May he Rest in Peace and enjoy the music in heaven . 🙏🏼 🎶

It was with profound shock and sadness that I heard of the sudden passing of Peter Lydon. We were up in Cavan at the Hot Country Awards on Monday night when news came through from Galway. Peter had sent me three messages on Sunday night saying he was going into hospital for a procedure on Monday. He asked me to play Big Tom and Run To The Door on my show which I did early in the night. He seemed to be in fine form and said he was looking forward to the shows in Sligo in November. Peter was one of my most loyal listeners for many years and Facebook gave him a new way of connecting with so many people. I can hardly recall a show for two decades or more that I did not receive some message via text or FB from Peter. He had such a great love for the music scene and a fine knowledge of it too. It is so hard to believe that Peter has departed these shores. My condolences to Mary and all the family at this sad time.
