Peter Mahony

Josephine, we heard very late about Peter’s passing and it hit us hard. You and the family will have been devastated. Our memories of the indomitable young fella in Gaelscoil brought smiles to our faces, especially the visits to our house to “play” with Rich. The two of them together could be little devils! Reading the comments here and in talking with Rich has brought us up to date on what a bright, talented man he became. Well done Peadar. Rest in peace now.

We were lucky to have Peter in our class at Colaiste Daibheid. I’ll never forget his performances on the drums. And he was such a talented artist. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Peter. I was an SNA in Colaiste when he attended school there and was lucky enough to witness his great determination through thick and thin. I sat with him for his Leaving Cert as his bestie Noreen was ill. It was a pleasure and of course he did really well and went onto College. That was a great honour for me and I am glad I met him as he was an inspiration. My deepest condolences to his lovely family

Condolances to Josephine, Mike,and Michael on the untimely passing of Peter. I was his SNA in Colaiste Daibheid, we got on so well, bar the daily F..k off Noreen,we had our own understand and relationship. But he was the boss at all times.
But i loved him to bits. after Colaiste he went on to UCC where he studied for Degree in English and Irish, he then did his Masters, wow what an an achievement.
Before he got his motorised chair. I was pushing him along with his class, i was talking and to some one and he called me and said "keep your eyes on the job woman, your pushing me all over the road' that was my first week, by God after that i did what i was told. He was a lovable rogue,
His art exibations were professional, showings in wilton Library, City hall, and many more venues. He had his prices on them
and not a penny less.
an outstanding artist. A published poet and writer many competitions and won,one huge one run by the Bank of ireland and he got through regional and then on to All Ireland and also won that, and was presented with a fine cheque from Keith Duffy. He was just outstanding and i am so lucky to have known him oh he also played his drums at the jazz festival every year.
I could go on and on, i loved and admired Peter. He was my peata and we were still in contact all these years later. Slán go foil Peter my peata

My deepest of condolences to Michael, Josephine, and Mike, the best parents and brother that Peter could ever have asked for. I will miss Pete an awful lot. I will miss the random chats on novelty socks, the nerdiest of sci-fi facts, and on how best to annoy the other cousins. But most of all, I'll miss his mischievous grin when he was about to cause chaos. Rest in peace, Pete.

My deepest condolences to the whole family. Peter and I spent many years side by side through primary and secondary school and he was a big influence on my formative years. He was a trusted and valued friend throughout and his presence will be deeply missed.

It is with the greatest sadness that I hear of my dear friend Peter's passing. I have had the joy to share the same wavelength with Peter, both as artists and of our outlook on life. Forever together in tune.

He was so knowledgable about film and loved sharing his knowledge and opinions. He was very witty and just loved all the elements of film making. I got to know Peter through volunteering with Mad About Cork and really enjoyed our chats about music and gigs we had gone to, films and photography over the obligatory pizza and pint we used to have after work was done. Even was lucky enough to join him in a few quizes in Callanans. He was a very intelligent and talented person and I'm very glad to have one of his paintings to remember him.
