My sincere condolences to the McLaughlin family on Peter's passing. I remember him from my childhood in Collooney as 'the funny uncle', and in my adult years as the man who was always welcoming of my family and still always up for a laugh and a pint. Rest in peace uncle (in-law) Peter.

There is a lot of history between our two families going back to the1930/40 s, to your dad Peter and my grand uncles .Very rich and pleasant memories. Rest easy with these memories Peter as I will in the years to come. Thanks for your good wife Anne's care and attentions and knowing your in laws in Beaumont Hospital in recent years .God grant you rest Peter and we will keep you in our prayers.

May I offer my sincerest sympathy to all of Peter's relatives and friends on his sad passing. I got to know Peter as a Garda on duty at Killea many years ago He always came in his Austin Cambridge and always spoke lovingly about his car. We had lots of long conversations. He was a lovely person to know, and I now hope there are Austin Cambridge's in Heaven . Rest in Peace, Peter .

My mother's family was from Newtowncunningham. My uncle John would occasionally take us for a Coke or Football Special in Peter's bar there on the main street. Peter was always very nice to us. Good memories.

Our sincere sympathy to the McLaughlin family. We are sad to learn of Peter's passing. He was the 'uncle' who was always met with joy, for his trickplaying when we were children to the stories he regaled us with as adults. May he rest in God's care.

The Donegal Vintage & Classic Car Club passes on their condolences and deepest sympathies to Dominic and the extended McLaughlin family on the passing of Peter. Peter was a Life Long member of the club and attended club meetings up to pre Covid. He was a most interesting man, mechanically, to talk to and had some great stories to tell. He regularly attended many static shows, even bringing along his plane on a trailer to one of them. His Austin Cambridge was his pride and joy and loved talking about it.
May his gentle soul Rest in Peace. Peter will be fondly remembered at our next club meeting.
