So sorry to hear of Peter's death. I have the happiest memories of his help and inspiration during my time as Garda chaplain and later when I accompanied a group,of Esker pilgrims to Lourdes. I am saddened to learn of the passing of a Tierwoker, Kells, Co. Meath comrade Peter McCabe where we were reared 5/6 fields apart, sharing the local culture and folklore. Oh, those happy and carefree days!!! Peter left home interested in receiving an outstanding education, serving his country for many years. A LIFE WELL LIVED!!! Peter is now reunited with his Father Ted, Mother Mary Ellen(Nell) Brother Ted, Owen & John. Now after life's cares and sorrows The Comfort and sweetness of peace: As God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. As general George S Patton Jr said " It is foolish and wrong to mourn the man who died. Rather we should thank God that such a man lived." What we once enjoyed and dearly loved, we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us. May our Good Lord's love make your grief bearable. I will donate a little remembrance to Peter towards Tierworker St. Patrick's Chapel. My most profound condolence to the McCabe Family.
