Peter O'Hanlon

Sincere condolences to the O'Hanlon family. I was starting out in Rosmini as Peter's career was coming to an end. I remember his great sense of humour including, on occasion, gentle ribbing of colleagues. Meeting Peter in the staffroom was a great start to the day. I'm sorry our careers didn't overlap more. RIP.

Condolences to Tony, Edel and the extended O'Hanlon family. I have some wonderful memories of Peter in the staffroom, as well as in the Cat and Cage. His kindness to me when I arrived in Rosmini was only surpassed by his wit and humour.

Happy memories of meeting Deetie and family on their holiday visits to Marsh Lane and their visits to the old shop in Priory St you knew so well. That was over between 1968 and 72 , a long time ago lest we forget.

Edel and Tony we were so sorry to see that your lovely Dad has passed away. We have great memories of him and Mary in the mobile home in Cahore. Unfortunately we wont be able to attend the funeral but will be watching online. Take care.

Sincere sympathies to the O'Hanlon family on the passing of Peter. I have such lovely memories Petey,Mrs.O'Hanlon,Peter and James from our visits to New Ross. My mother Lila had worked for them and they remained lifelong friends. Peter very kindly came to Tralee to see her when she was sick, even bringing his Mom in her late 90s. He had a great wit and charm, with a lovely twinkle in his eyes. May he rest in peace.

Condolences to Peter’s family. Started working with Peter in the early 1980’s. He was like the ‘father figure’ and mentor to us rookie teachers. Always ready for a laugh and craic in staff room, even at 8 in morning. Also for sessions in Cat n Cage. So highly regarded by all the students - his science classes were especially adventurous !! Loved his wit and humour. A character and a gentleman. RIP Peter
