Rest in Peace Peter. No matter how down I was feeling, your glorious presence and thunderous clap on my shoulder and hearty greeting always, always, always made my day.

A true gentleman, and a shining example of the kind of human we should all strive to be.
Peter is now with Cora again.
Ar dheis Dé d’anam, Peter
Today we laid my good friend Peter to eternal rest. Not only was Peter a dear friend to me but he was a true friend to my family. He bought my wife and children presents from one week to the next just because he knew it would bring a smile to their faces. He will be sorely missed. Rest in peace my friend. 🎩♥️
A true gentleman. I had the pleasure of working with Peter for many years in Mobhi Boreen. Always kind, sensitive, gentle and thoughtful, with a very big heart. When I left the Fisheries, I was very honoured to have Peter give my "going away" speech. Something I will never forget. Rest In Peace Peter.
Deepest sympathies to the family of Peter (Doc) Roche
Doc was the most wonderful, kind and brilliant gentleman, we enjoyed every moment spent in his company.
So kind and thoughtful.
Everyone who knew him (and that was a lot of people) loved him.
You were the best of the best Doc, thanks for counting us as your friends.
Safe journey
RIP
A truly distinguished gentleman of great character and kindness. Ever so thoughtful, he was rarely seen without a bag in hand, always bringing a gift or token for those around him. He never forgot a face, and made it a point to greet everyone warmly and pay his respects. The Palace Bar has lost a cherished friend, but his spirit will live on in our hearts and in the many stories people will continue to share. He will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace Doc xx
I first bumped into Peter in Mulligans one quiet Sunday afternoon. He was chatting amiably to the barman about the then recent visit of Queen Elizabeth, and in particular the speech she had made in Dublin castle. He was so impressed by it that he had written to the embassy to obtain a copy of it. He turned to me and asked what my thoughts on it were. I said I hadn’t heard it as I was out of the country at the time. He said you have to hear it, so he took my address, and a pristine copy of the speech duly arrived with a matter of days.
I subsequently got to bump into Peter many times over the years. He brought instant sparkle to the room, and epitomised the saying, “a bird is known by its song, a man by his conversation’”.
I am very glad I go to spend some time in his company.
Rest in peace Peter.
Rest in peace Peter united now with your beloved wife Cora. You were always a gentleman to everyone who was lucky to know you in Glasnevin. Your love and care for Cora was exemplinary ,your love and caring for her was beautiful. Slan Peter .
I got to know Peter and his late wife Cora when I was based in Glasnevin 2001-2006. They were a devoted couple and Peter was devastated by Cora's death. Peter talked about her constantly and Cora remained very much part of his life. The tributes in this section are truly amazing and very representative of the tremendous impression, Peter made and left with everyone he encountered, no matter how briefly. He was a thorough gentleman, a great man of Faith, always dressed immaculately and a very faithful and devoted friend to all he knew. My prayer is that he is now at rest and reunited with Cora. Sincere sympathy to his sister and extended family. Be assured that I will remember him at Mass and prayer. Fr.Des.
My deepest condolences to all of Peter's family. He was an absolute gentleman. It was an honour to know him. May he rest in peace x

A true gentleman. I got to know Peter in the late 2000’s as I worked in Fleet Street. An area in which Peter was well known and loved. On my last day working in the area after many years Peter gifted me a beautiful pen as I set out on a new career. A small thought perhaps but it meant a lot to me. I took it as Peter’s vote of confidence. Go raibh maith agat, a chara.
