I feel that I was very fortunate to have met the feisty, indomitable, whirlwind and lover of life that was Phil on a few occasions in the company of her brother Tony and sister in law Kit when Phil visited in Cork. I was lucky to have heard her stories, and enjoyed her company. To hear about her journey (via Istanbul) on her own in the past couple of years to see her sister in law in South Africa was typical of Phil. May she Rest in Peace

So sorry to hear about my old neighbour Phil .... everyone in Brookville has happy memories of Brian , Phil , Gerard & Colm ... great times growing up together ... happy times RIP Phil 🙏
The decision of Bryan and Phil Conyngham to settle down and come to live and work in Drogheda, all those years ago, was a very fortunate one for the town and it's inhabitants. Their zest and enthusiasm for involving themslves in community organisations, in many spheres, was absolutely immense. Sadly, Bryan left us some years ago but his beloved wife, Phil, showed boundless energy in maintaining his legacy right to the end. I served with Phil on several committees down through the years and valued her advice, help, commitment and above all, her friendship. The passing of Phil Conyngham, sees the town of Drogheda lose one of its greatest characters and community icons.
I offer my sincere sympathy to her immediate and extended family.

Phil brought huge positive energy to everything she involved herself with - whether it be in the arts, music, heritage or local politics.
Always upbeat, she sought to find solutions not argue over problems.
