My first one of these wasn't published so i will choose my words more carefully.
In short, a life with Phil was always going to be more.
We were privileged to meet and spend time with Therese and even more time with Tigger too.
Words cannot express the sadness and loss we feel. Memories of Tigger and the Hamster will always bring smiles. Its hard not to smile when remembering Phil at anytime - zombie apocolypse was concerning!
The love he had for his girls was fierce. The price of losing such a love will never be easy but i know that this love will continue forever.

I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. Such sad news for you. Sending all my thoughts and prayers to you at this time.

I was shocked to hear of the sad passing of Phil, a truly great guy, I had known Phil since 2006 when he bounded into my office, shook my hand, from then I knew we would get on great, both rugby players, both big guys, and he had such a great sense of humour, it was a pleasure to be around him.

Over the years we kept in contact, bumped into each other at bars, and on the road bikes, and he always was my go to guy for technical sales or advice.

He was an amazing Dad, I never got met Teegan or Therese (I moved to Sweden sometime ago), but his dedication and love for them and his extended family was always clear from his FB posts and stories.

Its sad to known that big personality and energy has gone (the universe has gained a huge star) , a great man, father, and no doubt partner, we wont see his kind again, rest easy big guy, you Aussie legend.

Im sorry I could have not been there to show my condolences to the family, Ill raise a whiskey for you this weekend x

It was with shock and great sadness that we heard of Phil's death. During Teegan's time in St.Patrick's, Phil was a familiar presence on the school yard who always had time for a chat. He was so generous to our Parent Association fundraisers. Teegan- anyone who met your dad had no doubt how much he adored you. We are so sorry he has gone so soon. Thinking of Teegan, the wider Howarth family and all his family and friends in Ireland and Australia. Rest in peace Phil.

My deepest condolences to Phil’s family. I had the pleasure of playing footie with Phil with the South Dublin Eagles back in the day. Many happy memories and adventures had up and down the country. Phil came into our life about 5 years ago like a whirlwind. Gregarious, funny and kind. You knew when Phil was in the room. Our particular room in Castleknock will be missing a smashing bloke and a great friend. I will miss his company and telling him that Aussie Rules wasnt a real sport. Ill have a JD regularly to remember him. Teegan and Therese Phil loved you both and I am sorry for your loss xxx

For me, he was this larger than life guy who made an instant impression on me, he had a great sense of humour, someone you could rely on when the going got tough, he was straight, you always knew where you stood with him. Phil, you promised me only a few weeks ago that you were going to teach me how to drink that bottle of JD whiskey properly, as you reminded me it's for drinking not saving! In 2005, this larger than life Aussie fella bounds into my office unannounced and uninvited, puts his hand out and says, “Hi Boss, I’m Phil and I want to work with you”. I was quite taken aback by his brashness but intrigued by his ingenuity. He did end up working with me a few weeks later and hence started our friendship. For 20 years he’d never call me by my first name, just “boss”. A few years ago I asked him why he never called me by my actual name and he said that as far as he was concerned, my first name was “Boss” and to take it as the compliment intended. I did …….. and even writing this now chokes me up.
I bet you there are a few rooms up in heaven that he has already earmarked for Video Conf installs.
Love to all his family especially Teegan, who he just adored and would gush in such admiration when he talked about her, and to Therese whom he loved deeply and did wonder how lucky he was to have found someone who put up with him.

I am deeply shocked and saddened to hear the tragic news of Phil’s sudden passing. I still cannot quite believe it.

I was fortunate to have spent a number of Social Occasions and a Groomsman duties with Phil.

I will never know how he managed to stop a bus late at night in Lisdoonvarna and arrange for 20 of us to get home safely.

Phil always had time to help a friend out and was honest as the day is long. I know that he had helped me out on a number of occasions.

Phil was a big character, who brought laughter and fun to many an occasion. He will be missed and was taken too soon.
