Ursula, especially, and John, who I know a little less, and Niamh and Maura & all the extended family, it is with the saddest heart that I send this condolence. For my mother, Maura, and for me, Phil English was one of those unique individuals that we were blessed, and privileged to know over many years. We absolutely loved her. We cherished her company and enjoyed so much her numerous invitations to her beautiful home to spend time with her and enjoy her phenomenal cooking, in particular, I remember her Seminal Cake, at Easter. We shared stories and perhaps being related ‘through marriage’ (on my late father Tom Murphy of Abbeyknockmoy’s side) made us feel even closer. Phil absolutely adored all of her Grandchildren and being related to Ursula’s children was a bonus, I felt.
Dear Phil was related also to Mother Dolores (RIP) of the Loreto Abbey in Rathfarnham where I was working at the time and was also related to the famous Ó Máille Family of Galway who we knew very well and who were our neighbours in Galway.
We had so much in common and knew so many of the same people as well as having the same friends.

Our dearest and much loved friend Phil has simply gone ahead of us, not from us.
May God give you all strength and courage now as you say good bye to Mam,
but remember, you will be reunited again in Heaven.

May her most precious soul rest in eternal peace 🙏
