I met Philip on my only visit to Graiguenamanagh in 1978. We were shadow boxing and he almost knocked my tooth out.
Of all the people who were so lovely to me that day .. Philip is the one I remember to this day.
When Mary Aylward sent me the video clip I was in tears all the way. Haunting music and lovely photos.

Philip was a classmate during our time in school, it was a pleasure to meet him and we always followed the rule, Philip was a lovely man and the best I ever met, now May God be with him and he is one I won't forget.

It was truely wonderful to see the big crowd who attended Duiske Abbey for the funeral of Philip Aylward and heartfelt sympathy to his family nephews and nieces and all of Philips relations and neighbours. While his carers his sisters and John dud great work in minding Philip over the years a special word of thanks must go to Liam. His contribution in keeping Philip in Coppenagh was invaluable and a special well done to him.
