It's 7th October today and I only just heard the news about Philip.

Many years ago in the mid '90s, Philip worked as part of my team in CompuStore. He was an absolute dote and I became extremely fond of him. We worked together for a couple of years and when he was leaving, he handed me one of the most beautiful resignation letters that I ever received. It touched me so much that I cried.

This evening I'm crying again, just thinking of his beautiful soul.

Rest in peace dear Philip!

We first knew Phil as a 'friend-of-a-friend' through his lifelong & best friend, Keith Travers.
Very quickly Phil became a friend of ours as well, with his unique smile & always warm welcome. Over the years myself and Phil had great fun whatsapping each other which of course always included plenty of slagging over Leinster / Ulster & West Ham / Arsenal. Phil gave the impression of somehow being someone who was always there for everyone and yesterday's wonderful tributes confirmed this to be the case. The world is a poorer place for Phil's passing and he will never be forgotten.
Our deepest sympathies to Ania and the all of the Dunne family. You are all rightly proud of a fanstastic person and we are here to support in any way we can.

As our brother Fergal’s neighbour in Glasnevin for many years, we all came to know Phil, as this smiley and ultimately brilliant neighbour who became a good friend to Fergal. His kindness and loyalty was evident when he checked himself out of hospital to come to Cork for my father’s funeral in 2019 – just one example of a man with a big heart. May he rest in peace x

It was an honour and privilege to be in Glasnevin this morning to say goodbye to Philip with the many many friends and family that gathered. Myself and Philip started on the same day in Moss Technology back in 1995 and he quickly became a true friend. Sometimes time went by without seeing each other but then within 5 minutes of meeting it was laughter and slagging again. The beautiful eulogies this morning captured his spirit so well and I know he would have especially loved those bubbles floating in the air and the West Ham jerseys on display. The humour, decency, love and affection that was expressed was a perfect reflection of the man himself.
