Very sad and sorry to hear of Philip’s passing. My sincere condolences to the family. I knew Philip for more than 40 years. A true gentleman. He inspired me to go back to Trinity College as he did to UCD. We were tourist guide colleagues and served on the committee of the Approved Tourist Guides of Ireland. We also were the best of friends. We were in touch regularly up until a few weeks ago. I will miss his encouragement, his stories, poetry and wit and his love. May he Rest In Peace.

I am very sorry to hear of the death of ‘uncle‘ Philip. A constant, kind and loving presence in our family life for over sixty years, as was your dearest mum, Nuala. I am so sorry that its not possible to be with you at this sad time.
