Sympathy to all those who knew and loved Phil. The death notice caught my eye and brought me back to the summer of 1966. I had a summer job in St Michael's Hospital Dun Laoghaire in Dublin and there I met Phil who was also working there. So lovely to read about the wonderful nurse she became and of her life in Australia. May she now rest in heavenly peace.

Deepest sympathy to all Philomena’s family and friends. I didn’t know her but Philomena was obviously a very clever lady who went on to excel in her chosen profession in nursing. I am sad to see Phillis has passed we were good friends in primary school I remember when she went to St Leo’s College in Carlow I missed her so much even at that age she was so kind Condolences to her husband Eddie and family.

I had the pleasure of working with Philomena in Caritas Christi in 2007. I was so nervous my first ever shift working in palliative care and a long way from home. She took in under her wing and definitely made me into the nurse I am today. She just had a glow about her and made everyone feel at ease. Thinking of her family at this time. May she rest in peace.
