Philomena Payne
(née Wynne)

I was deeply saddened to hear of Phil's passing. She was a wonderful neighbour, always kind and ready for a friendly chat. Her warmth and generosity touched our lives over the many years we shared as next-door neighbours. My heartfelt condolences go out to her family during this difficult time.

An ode to my grandma:

Ever so stylish with her glasses,
She loves to make jokes with her lasses.
Her hair flutters every so kindly in the wind,
As she prays away all of her sins.
Her hot tea stirs gently in her mug,
And she sits down to take a slug.
Down the boreen, she marches ahead,
Strong and proud, she can now lay down her head.
Sharp and witty, she’ll forever be,
Past, present, and future - my grandma, she will be.

Poynton & Corrandulla don’t feel the same without you.

I have very fond memories of “Mrs P.” from when I was on placement in Manchester and stayed with her, over 20 years ago. She looked after me like I was one of her own. I will never forget her kindness and hospitality. Really sorry we can’t make the funeral as we are away. You will all be in our thoughts and prayers. May she rest in peace.
