Phyllis, was one of the most entertaining, creative and warm participants that I ever had ,in my classes, in my long career as a teacher in Adult Education(John Jennings Library) . Phyllis was a fantastic storyteller and a beautiful writer who regaled the class with evocative, sensitive and lyrical memoirs of childhood, young adulthood and maturity ; the warmth and happiness which she derived from her own family life always illuminated her writing . Phyllis was a great presence in our class and, most memorably for me, was her great, sense of fun and infectious -and slightly naughty!- laugh and humour. May Phyllis rest in peace. Rest in Peace Auntie Phil. We enjoyed many great visits from Phil years ago when she and my Mam, Kay, would drink endless cups of tea, turn the lights off and swap great ghost stories in front of the fire. My brothers Billy, Alan, Dermot and I always enjoyed her company and storytelling. I hope Phil is at rest now with her beloved John. Sad times for all her family. Carol, Julian, Eoghan and Rory.

Mom has always had such a special place in her heart for Phyllis and family. She always admired and deeply loved Pyhllis.

Phyllis was a very kind, loving and giving lady, she had a great sense of humour , and we had many an evening sitting around the table at home and in Palmerstown mostly until the early hours with my mum and dad .
Phyllis was a great help to me at my own Mother and Father's funeral's as she stood beside me as I read out poems about their lives, she held me up , when I thought I couldn't go through with the readings for that I will always be grateful.
Love and miss you Phyllis, but you're where you should be with the lovely John.
