My sincere condolence to the O' Byrne family on the passing of your father. I was so lucky to have got to know your dad. He was a gentleman, so kind and caring and always welcoming. We had so meny chats that were always filled with laughter. Always had a smile. Phonsie may you rest in peace.

So sorry to learn the sad news of Phonsie's death, but thankful to know that the end was peaceful. He was a great character, and his loss will be felt deeply by the family. He is now reunited for eternity with his anam chara Marion.

Deepest condolences to Rebecca, Martin, Gavin and Rachel and all of the extended Byrne families. Phonsie was such a true and elegant gentleman and so good natured. As a child, I remember Phonsie often giving mam and myself a lift to Dublin when he would be going to work. His late wife and himself were so kind and wonderful neighbours in the community. May they now both rest in peace together again.

I always recall with great fondness being at your birthday party many moons ago and your mum and dad played the part of the King & Queen. One by one each of us kiddies would sit on "the magic carpet" that they held straddled between their two chairs and just as we were comfortably chatting to them they would suddenly let go of "the magic carpet" and we would fall down with hysterical laughter - thankfully on to a soft landing!! Great moments of fun and laughter and still so fresh in my memory!! Thinking of you Rachel in these days and may Phonsie be now reunited with your mum and rest together in the eternal peace of God, Amen.

Phonsie was such a lovely man and very good to my uncle Gerry Lee in his final days which will always be appreciated and never forgotten. My mum, Patsy Lee, has many stories of his time as a young lad in Trim. A very generous man and always looked after us in the shop starting with selling Michael his black tie wedding suit out of the shop in Dun Laoghaire over 27 years ago. May he rest in Peace.
