Very sad to learn of Phyllis's passing after a long life, well lived. She was always such an elegant and kind lady. Her friendship and support for my parents and Grandfather Nick, meant that she and Brendan were often part of family gatherings. Such a sad day and to be buried on election day is not lost on us, as she worked so hard on so many! To Johnny, Philip and Dick you were fortunate to have two wonderful parents, now justly reunited after many years. You are all in our thoughts as we all close this era and remember with pride, knowing people who gave so much, selflessly to Irish public life and to Wexford. Brendan was often called "the gentlemen of the Dail, no doubt that Phyllis was Wexford's First Lady who held her own in any company, representing the country or supporting Wexford and her family. A sad passing after a long life and a flood of great memories of selfless public service, love, respect and decency are there to comfort you at this time of great loss. She will rest easy now. RIP

We extend our deepest sympathies to the Corish family on the death of a remarkable lady. The late Phyllis was pivotal in supporting her late husband, former Tánaiste and Labour Party Leader, Brendan, a formidable political leader. She reared her family of three boys, all of whom were successful in their respective careers. Yes, the late Phyllis did Wexford some service behind the scenes, never overshadowing her late husband. The family can rightly be proud of her.
