Pierre was but noble and true. A kind, generous and awe-inspiring man. We hadn't met him though knew about him and his wondrous ways of being. Our sincere condolences to all the Zakrzewski family especially Marie-Ange and Michelle, at this sad and difficult time. He will be truly missed and may his legacy live on in each and everyone of you. And may he rest in peace.

Sincere condolences to Pierre,s wife, children,brother's,sister's extended family & friends. I did not know Pierre but from photos, what I've read & heard in interviews he is a huge loss to many. A brave & beautiful man taken too soon. May he rest in peace.

To dear Zosia, Marie-Ange and the whole family, I was so, so sorry to hear about Pierre's tragic death. I remember him well from occasional visits to your beautiful Butterfly House when Zosia and I were in the French School. The fact that he loved his work and was so good at it - and that we need brave and fearless journalists now more than ever - will hopefully give you all some comfort. But to lose a much loved son, husband, brother, uncle and friend at such a young age is simply heartbreaking and you are all in my thoughts. Sara xx

You may not remember us but We met in india back 20 years ago. You and Pierre were on a mad journey on your motorbike . We have a beautiful picture on our wall of you both ever since. Pierre was a special person and we were privileged to meet him

I was absolutely gutted to hear of Pierre's death and was struck by the horror of it more and more as I discovered what a fabulous, generous and idiosyncratically benevolent soul he was - and it only gradually dawned on me that this was the same Pierre I met once or twice in the old party house on Leopardstown Road all those years ago .... Stas you were - as were all the participants - so strong and spoke so bravely and poignantly today, my heart breaks for you all. And for all afflicted by this unspeakable, unnecessary, savage and brutal tragedy. Let there be no more. Peace to Ukraine. Slavi Ukraini. And how true, ní bheidh a leithéid arís ann. Ar dheis de go raibh a anam uasail dilis agus beannacht ar gach daoine s' a chlann go deo - go deo.

This is an unspeakable tragedy for Pierre’s loved ones and for the whole world.

What a dedicated, selfless man. Pierre opened the world up to us all, we need to know the truth he delivered, otherwise evil might go unchecked.

Bless Pierre for his good work and bless his loved ones for their gift of him to us.

So lovely to read about his lovely nature and sense of humour, a well rounded human being.

Dear Pierre, my friend, your concern and love for me when you found out I had been shot and my team had been attacked in Ukraine gave me such strength. Words to explain my gratitude simply fail me.
As we hugged goodbye I said please be careful. As we know, in wars being careful never counts for much.
We have covered so many tragedies in so many countries over so many years and throughout you were there as a beacon of goodness. So many times you buoyed my flagging spirits with kind words or a joke and a shared understanding of how tough our circumstances were.
You were always sheer class mate. RIP.
