The Club (old boys of Allhallows School, Lyme Regis) wishes to record its condolences to the family of Piers who is well remembered as a keen shot and tennis player.
I am so sad to find that Piers has died and send my condolences to his family. I am also totally surprised to find Piers died on the same day as his cousin Nigel Jenney. I last saw Piers at Nigels 70th birthday party in Norfolk. We were all direct contemporaries in the same house at school in the 1950s. My thoughts are with both families at this difficult time.
Geraldine,
My sincere sympathy on the death of Piers.
I have only heard the sad news as I was out of the country at the time.
It was a pleasure to have known Piers and his contribution to the geological and mining world was much appreciated by those of us who were involved in the industry.

We were very sad to hear about Piers passing away. As newcomers to Dublin, we found him always gracious and welcoming. We will remember him as a good friend and neighbor. He will be missed. God rest his soul.
May Piers rest in peace. Memories from his research days around Duncannon, a long time ago.
Piers was a lovely person to deal with. Condolences to all of the family

Dr Gardiner was a man with tremendous presence, wit and good conversation. I found a wonderful welcome whenever I was in his company and felt he was full of interest in the goings on of the friends of his off-spring.
I know he’ll leave a big gap in all of your lives and I hope the lifetime of memories and stories that you’ll be sharing over these days will offer you all some comfort.
May he rest in peace.

On behalf of my family in New York I am sending love and condolences to our beloved Geraldine and Emma, and to Mark, Jason, Rory, and Claire. We loved Piers very much. Maud and I are so glad we made the trip to see Piers and Geraldine in May. We loved taking him out to the garden to enjoy the beautiful sunny day, and all our warm-hearted chats. He was so good and kind with Maud and Philomena and they both treasure the time they spent with him. I should tell you (is here the appropriate place?) that I'm writing a book and the geologist in it is called Piers Gardiner. And he's wonderful and brilliant, obviously. We will miss Piers very much and we send all our love to all his family and friends. Geraldine, we will come and see you and give you lots of hugs in the months to come. RIP Piers. May your light shine on. Love, Winsome, Claude, Maud, and Philomena, New York City
