Our deepest sympathies to Crona and the Clarkson family. PJ was a real gentleman and an extraordinarily decent human being. Our family has known the Clarksons in Priory since the 1950s. In recent years, he was a servant of the Church and at all times a decent and good neighbour. He has a long and fulfilled life. RIP

Dear Crona, Helen, kevin, Conor & Mike,
I am so very sorry to hear that that your beloved husband and Dad has passed away.
PJ, (Mr. Clarkson!) was a quiet, humble, hero in Mt. Merrion.
He and Crona were so kind, supportive, encouraging, hardworking with so many of us growing up.
I remember so fondly his quiet, gentle (and always punctual) manner on the many, many times he gave me a lift to school!
He was interested in everything we did and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting up with him in Priory Ave. in recent years.
He loved and cherished Crona and his children and grandchildren dearly and was always so very proud of you all.

PJ was indeed a Noble Soul and may he now Rest in Peace

It was with sadness that I learnt of PJ's sad passing. My sympathy goes to his family. He was such a gentleman and highly regarded by all. May he rest in perfect peace

Crona, a chara, agus an teaghlach ar fad - comhbhrón ó chroí.

It was always a pleasure to be in PJ’s company.

His contribution to Mount Merrion Parish - especially in the 25 years up to 2020 - as a leader amongst the laity - was immense.

The Parish Centre, the Finance Committee, Money Counting, Treasury and Sacristans all benefited from his friendly, capable and committed stewardship.

But his Leadership of the Parish Fast and the support given to communities Ndola and Makiungu was very much ahead of its time.

He will be greatly missed.
