So sad to hear of Conor's passing. I have so many fond memories of him. Conor was integral to our multi disciplinary team that discovered Helicobacter pylori was the cause of duodenal ulcers. We also established the first Erasmus programme for medical students. Conor was an inspirational Teacher, Colleague and Friend. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Dear Romney and family, I was very sorry to hear of Conor's passing. I was his first Senior House Officer in Microbiology when he returned to Dublin in the early 70s. He was a great mentor to me in my early career. May he rest in peace.

A wonderful colleague and brilliant physician and microbiologist.
He was at the frontier of integrating laboratory medicine into bedside care and his guidance and advice was absolutely indispensable in the clinical management of patients with acute infectious diseases.
He was also a wonderful colleague.
Infinite wisdom and always there to lend a hearing ear and a guiding hand. Also a great friend. Both Conor and his wonderful wife Romney helped organise many of the welcoming events for new young staff starting in St James’s Hospital at a time when the major teaching hospital that it is today was still in its infancy.

I would like to offer our condolences to Romney, Marcus, Sinead, David and extended family. I am sorry being so far away and missing the funeral. I have very fond memories of Conor going back nearly 40 years. I remember Conor as a loving, wonderful and a great family man not to mention a keen rugby supporter. I am so sorry for Conor’s passing may he rest in peace.
