Have just heard the sad news....unfortunately, too late to attend ceremonies. My memories of Michael
go back to our school days, in Cork. May he rest in peace.

My thoughts are with you Maire and your family on Michael recent. Death . Remember our days in Cornel.

I wish to express my deepest sympathy on this sad news of Michael's passing. Unfortunately I am out of the country until Monday evening next and will be unable to be in Greystones this morning. Michael was not only a UCD colleague but also a considerate and gentle person and a fountain of knowledge. I shared many, many pleasant times with Michael during the Young Scientist exhibition judging periods and often late into the evenings discussing a variety of topics and shared interests.

May the Lord have mercy on his soul
