Prof. Thomas J. (Tom) Brazil

The researchers and students in the RF and Microwave Research Group, headed by Professor Tom Brazil, extend their sympathy to Tom’s family, friends and colleagues. We would like to express our personal gratitude for Tom’s caring support and guidance in our academic studies. Just a few months ago, the group celebrated with Tom on the occasion of his retirement and also at the group Christmas dinner.
Tom was a local hero in the world of science, technology and engineering. He consistently supported and encouraged scientific education at all levels in the local community, from the Irish Young Scientist competitions, Royal Irish Academy activities and outreach programmes.
We will miss him.

Dear Eileen and family. I am so sad to hear of Tom's passing. He was a gentleman and I know you will all miss him greatly. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Really shocked to learn of Tom’s death. Remembered by us as a tremendous Neighbour & wonderful role model as we grew up. Our thoughts are his immediate family and Marion, Berenice & Walter.

Tom was a wonderful individual, gentle in approach and manner. He was profoundly sincere and caring.

Deeply shocked and saddened by this news. Tom was truly an exemplary colleague: warm, humane, passionately devoted to a life of the mind, witty and humorous, and always considerate and unfailingly courteous. His sudden passing must be terrible to bear for his family and friends, but his university colleagues, too, will feel a terrible void. May he rest in peace.

I have very fond memories of Tom from my days as a postgraduate student in the Merrion Street. He was a wonderful and brilliant man and will be sadly missed. My deepest condolence to all his family.
