So very sorry to hear this sad news. Aidan was a great lecturer whom I admired very much. Studied under him in the mid 1980’s. May he rest in peace ❤️
Sincere condolences Angela and Kevin. Aidan is a great loss to so many. I have been blessed to have played so much tennis with and against him - and still cannot believe he is gone. A wonderful, wise, kind man. RIP.
To Angela Kevin and the Extended Moran Family.
Deepest Sympathy on the Death of Aidan. RIP.
A Perfect Gentleman, always stopped for a Chat during his Cycle Trips on the Roads of Adrigole.

I knew Aidan from our Sunday morning chats in Donnybrook Tennis Club while our sons were playing tennis . Needless to say I was shocked at Aidan untimely demise. Any medical difficulties Aidan was experiencing he always played down when I enquired about his progress. Aidan was always a cheerful , considerate, and intelligent man . I was always glad to see him when I arrived on Sunday as I knew the hour would pass quickly in his company. I would have numbered him among my friends and he will be sadly missed . My condolences to his wife Angela and the rest of his family.
Angela I’m sorry to hear of Aidan passing. May he Rest In Peace.
Dear Angela and Kevin,
I cannot begin to express my sadness at hearing last Monday of Aidan's passing.
My thoughts and prayers are with you both, and all of your extended family, in the weeks and months ahead. Aidan lit up every time he spoke of you all.
As I have said, many times, over the past week - Aidan - one of the most uniquely intelligent, talented, supportive, committed, funniest and kindest people I’ve had the privilege to know - For me, he made everything possible and I will miss him, my ‘Academic-Dad’, forever.
Sincere condolences to you from all of the Hurley family.

Very sorry to hear of Aidan’s passing. Knew him from primary school in oatlands , we played soccer on the roads and had mutual friends between our two estates ( priory and woodlands) and indeed his parents and mine were friends. A gentleman . Brian duggan ( formerly woodlands drive , Stillorgan )
Deepest condolences to Kevin, Angela and all of Aidans family and friends, from all in Carmona Services.
Dear Angela, Kevin, Patricia, Dermot and Ciaran. What can I say about my best friend Aidan? I knew Aidan since we were 11, when we both lost a parent within weeks of each other, first Aidan's dad and then my mother. We became closer in St Theresa's Youth Club in late 1973, brought together by our love of Beatles, Van Morrison and Bob Dylan music. We were inspired to write and play our own songs too (his brilliant lyrics and my music usually), including The Ring My Mother Gave To Me and Following In My Father's Footsteps. The former was a strong favourite whenever we played it at the youth club. I will miss catching up and reminiscing with him on my rare visits back to Dublin or whenever I caught him unawares with an unscheduled phone call: we would never stop laughing as we recalled stories like our desperate search for dance partners at 1:50 am at the Belfield Saturday night student discos or when he was my roadie during my DJing days around Dublin. I was very moved to read the many tributes to him here. He was clearly loved by many and, though everyone wanted a piece of him, he was very generous with his time and any time with him was quality time. He always connected with whoever he was talking to at exactly right level - there were no airs and graces about him. He was modest and humble and a great friend. It's so true that only the good die young. There's a huge Aidan-shaped hole in all our lives now. Goodbye my best friend. I loved you and I will miss you. Dermot

I was privileged to have been in class from primary school all the way to Leaving Cert in 1974. A very special and humble inspiring man. Please take care. Wishing you peace and hope for better days ahead.

My sincerest sympathies to Angela, Kevin and to Patricia, Dermot and Ciaron on your sad loss of such a great family man as Aidan. He had been an upbeat, kind, close friend since the early 1980s. Few people got as much out their talent as Aidan. Apart from being a talented sportsman, Aidan was one of Ireland's greatest intellectuals whose achievements in psychology rival those of Joyce and Yeats in literature. May he Rest in Peace
Shocked and greatly saddened to hear about Aidan's passing. A gentleman, and a gifted public speaker and writer. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
To Angela, Kevin, Dermot and all of Aidan's wider family, we are so sorry to hear the very sad news of Aidan's passing. So sorry for your great loss Angela and Kevin, and also Ciaran, Dermot, Patricia.
Aidan had so many great qualities but when I reflect on our friendship over the decades since our school days in Oatlands the quality that strikes me now is the ease with which Aidan lived. In all those years right up to my most recent contact this year, I cannot recall him ever being sad or down, never a "woe is me" moment, no regret ever uttered, no anger or irritation (even when he got a bad call in a tennis match) caused him to frown. He lived life with such lightness and this quality along with his witty observations and his extraordinary memory of the details of incidents long past made being in his company a great pleasure. His ability to recall things from long ago was due in no small way to his listening. He really listened and was never judgemental.
Goodbye my friend. You left your mark.

Always so kind with his time and expertise . I knew Aidan since Primary school, and when I was looking for a good motivational speaker for a Life Assurance Association seminar some 15/20 years ago , Aidan was the one to help out . He was fantastic , the attendees loved his quite easy going personality. His knowledge , and the manner in which he delivered his talk is still talked about today. Rest in peace Aidan , and thank you for being such a good friend.

Our sincerest condolences to Angela, Kevin, Patricia, Dermot and Ciaran. We've met and chatted with Aidan out and about in Priory, Stillorgan and the locality for many years. Apart from been very smart and intelligent, he was the nicest guy one could meet.
I first met Aidan when he made a number of presentations to staff in my FE College. In recent years we'd bump into each other at Seapoint and discussed his beloved Mayo's prospects (short conversations unfortunately!). What a lovely man - intelligent, warm, humble, kind. Deepest condolences to Angela and Kevin. Taken way before his time. Ar dheis Dé anois, Aidan.
