Sincere sympathy to the Moore family. Des was a great colleague and friend in U CD. He was a brilliant engineer and was very clever. May he rest in peace.

I was very sad to hear the news about Des. My condolences to the Moore family and friends. Des was a great colleague (and formerly lecturer) in UCD Engineering, always interested in a chat and very helpful to younger staff, like myself, in the 1990s. Conversations with Des were always easy and very interesting, and he had a mischievous sense of humour. You will be missed, Prof..
To Karl, our deepest sympathy to you and your family on the loss of your Dad. May he rest in peace.
Sincere condolences to you all. So sorry for your loss.
A fine gentleman, and absurdly clever. You will be so missed by us all.
Very sorry for your loss. I saw Des recently by chance after many years. He was just how I remembered growing up. Such a gentleman, witty and thoughtful. May he rest in peace.
Very sorry for your loss. Alan and family
Miriam, my condolences to you and to your family on the death of Desmond. I am currently in France and will unfortunately not be in Dublin for the funeral.

A life well lived by a smart, erudite, leading academic thinker, a man of style and substance who after 90 + years leaves behind a professional legacy and a gorgeous family. Safe travels to my uber bright Uncle Des. Regards Kieran
