Heartfelt condolences to all the family on your recent loss. I was saddened to hear of Richard’s passing, recalling his
kindness and compassion in the messages and phone calls to me before and following the passing of my Mother Carmel Gilroy, Richard’s cousin. It was also a joy to have engaged in some wonderful conversations about our shared ancestral history and for us to have received his eloquent letters of appreciation regarding shared Gilroy/Fitzpatrick family research. Professor Conroy was a true gentleman, man of incredible intellect and a lifetimes work of service to Medicine, Ireland and achievements in so many areas.

He played a pivotal part in the establishment of Tallaght University Hospital as Chairman of its Planning Board. He was also a dedicated and visionary chairman of the Meath Foundation at the hospital. In both roles he gave most generously of his time, his expertise and his wisdom. A man of unfailing courteousness and kindness, he will be sadly missed.

My deepest condolences on the death of your Dad. He was a true gentleman! An RCSI legend but, more importantly, a husband, Dad , Grandad and much else. I suppose the only slight consolation is that we got to have our parents with us much later in life than previous generations. My thoughts are with you at this time....it never matters how old our parents may be, they are still our parents and losing a Dad is always hard. I remember him well, both as a teacher / Professor and as an absolute gentleman away from the College scenario. May he rest peacefully in eternity.

Richard was an exceptional person and anyone who engaged with him , either personally or professionally , was the better for it.

I am very saddened to hear of the death of Richard Conroy. We served together on Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Council, having both been elected on the same day for the Ballybrack Electoral Area. He was always a courteous colleague. I particularly remember his inclusiveness when he served as Cathaoirleach. My sincere sympathies to his family.

He was a great friend of my late father Hy Browne RCSI and Sorca (we had some "fun" times in Beaumont circa 1995/1996 Sorca 🤪). It was a pleasure to meet him at every Charter day meeting and Jubilee Lunch at the reunions yearly. He will be missed and remembered very fondly. xxx
