My thoughts and prayers are with the O’Connell family at what is such a horrific time. I have memories of Rachel both in St Catherine’s and through Mount Mercy. Her kind disposition and warm smile will live on in all those around her.
My she be at rest now.

The path on which we walk is still in shadow
But around the corner out of sight she is now bathed in Sunlight
And she has no pain
And all her tears have been wiped away.

She is surprised again by joy
And she is at peace
A peace so deep and complete
She did not think it possible

There is no condemnation
Only welcoming and loving arms
And recognition and smiles from those who went before
And we are still in shadow but they are waiting for us now.

And love never fails.

So saddened to hear of the death of Rachel. As lecturer, I had the privilege of knowing Rachel during her studies and warmly remember her positivity and work ethic, her kindness to others, and that beaming smile. My deepest condolences to her parents, siblings, fellow 2015 graduates and many friends. May she rest in eternal peace.
