We were very sad to hear of the death of Rainer. He always had a smile and a wave as he rowed out to the green boat. Deepest sympathies to David and all the Krause family. His gentle presence will be missed on the quay.

As a youngster growing up in the village there were always two constants; everyday the tide came in and out, and everyday The German came in and out from Foy's Hill on his bicycle, with a smile and a nod to everyone he met along the way, and he headed out the bay.
