I used to be his postman when Raphael had bike shop in Coolock Village. Always gave me good deals in bikes. A gentleman and great bit of craic. My deepest sympathies to all his family.

I recall fondly going for bike rides with Paul and him in.the 70s from port oriel when.They were on.hols in the camp site his striped long socks his trademark. What a talent he was such a sad loss

I served my time with Raphael, a hard worker and good fun, Deborah worked in the office, CRV Engineering is where they fell in love, the last time I met Raphael was in Tescos Artane where we chatted about me rear ending his sons car and I asked was he happy with the repairs he was , the humblest of men always with a smile RIP my friend .

Raphael was a classic cyclist, I was his teammate during An Ras Tailteann 1983 when he won a stage and finished 4th Overall, his success inspired us on. Condolences to his wife Deborah, children and extended family, may he Rest In Peace.
