My deepest condolences to you Mary, Michelle, Elaine ,Emma and the extended Dempsey family on the sudden passing of Ray. Always such a kind and helpful neighbour. He will be missed by many but most especially, you his family. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time. May all the memories console you in the time ahead.

sincerely sorry for your loss. I met Ray a number of times with my late dad Alan O'Brien and it was always such a pleasure to meet with him. Ray came to Stonycroft a few times to pass on some harmonica wisdom and tips to Al's grandson (my son) Brishan and again I have great memories of the mini-sessions in Al's front room in Stonycroft, with Ray, Brishan and Joshua.

I’m so sorry that Ray was taken from you so suddenly. I was looking at the centenary book recently & was pointing Ray out to my Dad, Alec, who would have played with him in the TGS. The pair of them were in a photo of the super senior winning team of 2014. He will certainly be missed in Newlands Golf Club.

I’m sorry that I knew Ray only from golf but am lucky to have had that at least. His company was a real pleasure and his attitude to life was pure jazz. Goodbye to a special person.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Ray’s passing. We met through golf at Newlands, and from the very first time we played together, he had a wonderful way of making me feel like we’d known each other for years. He was such a gentleman, always ready with a great story and a positive outlook that brightened the day before we even hit a ball.

It was a special joy to discover the connection he shared with my late father through their music and time in Slade Valley; Ray even kindly gave me his 'Do Ray Me' CD for him. We were so sad to hear of Ray’s passing. We only met him a couple of times at family events but he made a big impression. He was a great fun to be around and a wonderful musician. Our sympathies to his family and to Helena.
