Sincere sympathy to Mary and all the McEntee family on the death of Ray. It was with great sadness and fitting that we learnt of his passing when we were singing at mass on Sunday. Ray had a great commitment to singing in the choir every Sunday for over 50 years. He had a lovely tenor voice and he enjoyed singing the traditional hymns especially the ones in harmony. We paused after mass and shared memories of happy times together. There was one particular hymn at Easter which had six verses and if we wanted to shorten it he would tell us we had to tell the full story! When it became difficult to climb the stairs he was full of encouragement to keep singing. There will be a great welcome from past members of the choir in the choir in heaven. On a personal note he was very kind to my dad and visited him many times in the nursing home. Dad appreciated and enjoyed those visits. May his gentle soul rest in peace. 🙏🏻

I was so saddened to hear of Ray’s passing. He was such a lovely man, would always greet me with a smile whenever I met him. I have so many fond memories of my time in the McEntee house during my teenage years; it truly felt like a home from home. My sincere condolences to you all, I'm thinking of you. Rest in peace, Ray.
