Deepest sympathy to Ray's family on his premature demise. Ray (and Kay) packed a lot into their lives and gave so much too. Good memories of our time in Gormanstown back in the 60's Ray. You will be much missed by all who knew and loved you. RIP Ray.
My sincere sympathy to the Wickham family on the death of Ray. Really liked the lovely eulogy by Cormac. As a school pal of Rays who I used to meet occasionally in and around Howth, it was always a joy to catch up on his exploits. Forever a disciple of water safety and its merits he deserved all the accolades he got for his tireless work in support of Water Safety. May he rest in peace.
My deepest condolences to Comac, Garvan, Fergal and the ectrened family on the sad passing of Ray. I knew Ray and Kay my whole life as they were life long friends to my Mam and Dad, Aidan and Susan Byrne. We remember fondly the many visits of Ray and Kay to Rush Water Safety week to exam us all, the Water Safety competitions and events all over Ireland, and of course the weekly Wednesday nights in town for the meet up for pints with Ray, Jack, Sean and Aidan - where during the odd lively debate I witnessed, a point or discussion had to made 'through the chair (person) to much amusement! I was so glad to see Ray in Donegal last year when he stopped in to say hello to me. And how kind Ray and Kay were to our family when our sister Sinead and my Dad Aidan were ill. May Ray and Kay both be united in peace and look over you all. Both of them, and the other Water Safety members, did such service of teaching swimmers and sharing their passion for water safety. May Ray rest in peace.

We are saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Ray, we go back a long time since starting a Water Safety Red Cross course in Iveagh Baths back in 1966 at the time Ray and Kay were the Instructors. Ray and Kay have always been at the forefront of water safety and dedicated themselves to the cause of life-saving. Ray and Kay were always helpful to young up and coming trainee Instructors like myself at the time. Ray will always be remembered for the banter at WS conferences and courses over the years.
