Dear Uncle Ray,

Thank you for imparting your brilliant sense of humour — a gift that will echo in our hearts (and punchlines) forever. Over the years, we recited every single line of Young Frankenstein (Or is it "Fronckensteen"?) together, like it was a sacred script. You were the maestro of mischief, and the only person I could count on to shout, “Put… ze candle… back!” at exactly the right moment.

Your laughter was infectious, your timing impeccable, and your heart as big as your punchlines. You showed us all how humour could carry us through anything — and you did it with wit, warmth, and a glint in your eye that let us all in on the joke.

To Aunty Phyllis, and to Jessica, David, and Graham — my deepest sympathies. I hope you find comfort in knowing how deeply your da was loved, and how joyfully he’ll be remembered. His legacy isn’t just in the laughs he gave us, but in the light he leaves behind.
