We are shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Leslie's sudden death. We were all colleagues of his in Gouldings. Leslie chaired the Goulding Voluntary Medical Scheme for the last number of years in a very fair and measured manner. We are indebted to him and the world is a lesser place by his passing. Sadly missed by the committee: Noel Brown, Hilda Bleakley, Pam Gray, Matt Pollock, Alberta Kemp and all the members.
My condolences to Leslie's family and friends on his sudden death. I worked with him in R G McHugh & Co. in his earlier days. I found him to be a friendly and soft spoken gentleman.
An inspirational Captain of The 22nd Dublin Company of The Boys Brigade A man whose wisdom was sought by many throughout the BB World.
A special friend to me and to the many who were leaders and boys in our company.
Our Company motto sums him up - NIL NISSI OPTIMUM ( nothing but the best}.
You will be remembered by the quite Godly way you lived your life in the Service of Others.
Very sad to read of Leslie’s passing. A thorough gentleman and a cornerstone of Christ Church Sandymount who worked tirelessly to keep our church functioning effectively. Will be sorely missed by all. May his gently soul rest in peace, Winnie & The Smith Family, Sandymount.
We have just heard the sad news that Leslie has passed away. Leslie dedicated his life to helping others, particularly in his involvement in The Boys’ Brigade. He immersed himself in the work of the 22nd Dublin Company and there are many who will bear testimony to the impact for good that Leslie had on their lives. Leslie had other interests as well and his loyalty to Christ Church Sandymount (formerly Sandymount Methodist Church) and to DCM are but two of his other interests. We extend our sympathy to his brother Douglas anD family circle.
“Well done good and faithful servant”
Was saddened to hear the sudden news about Leslie. Only saw him a few short weeks at another Funeral. Will always remember his kindness to us. He certainly led a life of total Service within Gouldings and BB. And give thanks for his life amongst us. My Deepest Sympathy to all the Family.
" Well done thy good and faithful servant "
Very shocked & saddened to hear of Leslie's passing. We worked together in Gouldings/Fitzwilton many moons ago & kept in touch by Christmas card & the odd phone call. My deepest sympathies to his family & friends.
My sincere condolences to Leslie's family on the loss of a sincere gentleman. I first met Leslie over 40 years ago when I was a young Leader in The Boys' Brigade and he was an instructor at a training course. Since then I have been lucky enough to have worked alongside him at training courses and other fora within The Brigade. He was always very generous of both his time and his expertise and experience. He will be sadly missed but we can count ourselves fortunate to have known him.
Greatly saddened to learn of Leslie's death. It was a privilege to have known him through Boys Brigade. He will be missed so much. My deepest sympathy to members of his family. I extend sympathy too from the leaders and boys of 1st Littlewood BB Company.
We are deeply saddened to learn of Leslie's death. He was a loyal past pupil of our school and we enjoyed his company at the annual lunch for past pupils who attended St Andrew's College when it was located in Clyde Road. Our sincerest condolences are with Leslie's family at this time.
We would like to extend our sincere condolences to Leslie's family. We will greatly miss his wisdom and friendship.
