It is with great sadness that I regret I cannot be with you for a celebration of Raymond's life. One of the kindest people I ever met, Raymond introduced me to so many aspects of life, many of which I now continue to share with my kids, keeping him very much in my mind all the time.
When my friends & I decided we were going to start a band, Raymond was the most encouraging voice we heard. He somehow convinced the Nuns of St Paul's School Girl's School in Greenhills to hand over the school keys to us every Wednesday afternoon, so we could make our noise. He was always ready to help, no matter what ridiculous scheme we came up with & was even our first publicity photographer. Raymond taught me many important lessons in how to be a man & for that I am eternally grateful; I could not have had a better teacher.
