I’ve just heard of Raymond’s death, despite living in Thorndale! I was so saddened to hear the news. He was such a kind, self-deprecating gentleman. My sincere sympathies to Aileen & his family.

A gentleman. Sorry for your loss

I met Raymond when I drove out in front of him at Ballyraine in January 2001. Raymond collided with the bull bar on my old jeep. Raymonds car had damage. I was completely liable and told Raymond so. Raymond said he did not need police as insurance would suffice. I went to meet Raymond a few days later in his office and still remember what he said.
Ivan I have practiced law all my life and have met many crooks seeking compensation after accidents. My car can be fixed you have insurance thats all I need. My insurance fixed Raymonds car.
I never forgot Raymond and what he said and more important what he did.
Rest easy Raymond.

Sending my deepest and sincerest sympathies to Eileen, Tony and Sandra on what will no doubt be a huge loss to them. I trained, and worked with Raymond O'Neill for many years in VP McMullin, Solicitors back in the day and a better teacher, lawyer and colleague you would not find. He was a warm, gentle kind person, who alway acted fairly and with the utmost integrity.He was a super example and mentor to all, and great fun as well.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Eileen, Tony and Sandra, so sorry to hear of this huge loss for you all. Raymond was a wonderfully supportive colleague to me when we worked together. A very knowledgable and pragmatic solicitor who was able to get things done. He engaged with clients and colleagues with warmth and understanding. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear Uncle Raymond has passed. He’s the last of that generation of O Neill’s . We had plenty of fun with him when he stayed with us in Dublin with Hugh and Lena when he studied to be a solicitor. He always had a witty story to tell , over the years .
