My sincere sympathies to all Rays Family ..My memories of Ray was as a Huge Competitor for Railway Firsts on the grass Hockey Pitches during the Seventies , he was always a Gentleman and Great Company in the Bar afterwards no matter who won the match ....

So sad to hear of Ray’s passing. A true Railway stalwart. First met Ray in 1968 on the Hockey field. The one thing that could always be said of Ray “Nobody ever had a bad word to say about him” Always enjoyed his company which continued to our Railway reunions. My condolences to his family. I also watched the service online, he’d be so proud of his girls as it was a fitting & beautiful tribute to Ray, I’ve no doubt he’d particularly love the music that you chose. I remember Ray from our Unilever days as we used to car share our journeys into sheriff street for many happy years. So sad to hear the news of Ray’s death. I first got to know him in the 70’s through Railway Union Hockey Club. He was a truly great defender and always gave it everything on the pitch. He was always admired by so many people. Our condolences to the extended family.
