Ray was a genius, his wealth of knowledge was amazing, he could talk on any subject. His like will never be seen again. Ray may you rest in peace with your brother.
just received the sad news about the passing of our lovely friend from Dublin. we met Ray through Sean and Joy and we’ll remember the happy times we spent in his company. They were many. Our extended families of Sandra and Kevin, Angela and Peter, Neil, Tremayne and families. Also Mark and Helen. “Codladh go Bog”! xx
We will always treasure the wonderful memories of dear Ray in Somerset, England. He graced us with his presence on his visits. His kindness in Inchicore was a huge help and comfort.

We send love to Fintan’s family and may God comfort them in their sad loss. Two brothers united in death and in life. Our sympathy to all the McGovern family.

Sean & Joy and from all who knew and valued Ray as our friend in Somerset. Love from Anna & Family, Brendan & Family, Jordan and Family. And from Pat & Bill & Family. And from Serge & Dave.

We’ll meet again
Sorry never got to say goodbye to you Ray. You were a lovely person, always had a kind word when we met in the center. Always remember you helping me with my essay on De Valera, you were a wealth of knowledge. The fond memories of the trip to Innisheer, the laugh we had. Your memory will always be a blessing. May you rest in Paradise with your dear brother Fintan. Gone but never forgotten. Xx
Ray gave his time to a lot of groups, a great historian, poet.
May you and your brother Fintan rest in peace.
I am very sorry for your loss. I walked with ray in the phoenix park. He lead walks for dublin city council a few years back. He was a great leader. There was no one like him he had a wealth of knowledge. He will be sadly missed.
