I have only just heard of Rays untimely passing, I am so very sorry to hear this.
Ray was a colleague of mine when we both worked in Bank of Ireland. He was so kind, friendly and extremely witty. I loved all his travel stories, and of his weekends playing golf. Ray always spoke so fondly of his family, especially his twin Alan.
Thinking of you all at this very sad time, you are all in my thoughts & prayers.

I have many happy memories of Raymond and Alan at our door and in our house in Brook Court. The love, laughter and chats that radiated from a beautiful friendship between Stephen, Raymond & Alan which has lasted a lifetime. Raymond will be very greatly missed. May he rest in peace.

My 2 abiding memories of Ray are, him always being first to school in the morning and nipping out to the nook with Alan for sweets, and then later, a regular around the table tennis tables and a good player. A genuinely nice man and a great loss to all who knew him.

I am so sorry for your loss. Ray was a gentleman and a great friend who I will miss so much. When I last saw Ray, it was clear that Ray’s body was struggling due to his illness, but no matter how weak his body became, the illness could not weaken his incredible positive attitude and the determination Ray had to get back on his feet (and in particular, onto a golf course asap!!). I left Ray that day completely in awe of him and so inspired by his attitude despite the challenges he had ahead. Ray was a credit to the entire Travers family.

Like everyone, I was deeply sad to learn of the awful news about Ray this week.

I have known Ray and Alan from second class in Willow Park through to finishing in Blackrock – I always enjoyed his company and despite many efforts I never got came close to beating him on the squash court!

I was not aware that Ray was unwell – having read the messages above, it sounds like he handled his illness with courage and dignity.

I am just so sorry for you all – wishing you all the strength over the coming days, weeks, months and years.
