Dear Vera and the Shaw family, Margaret and I are sad to hear of the death of Alan. He was a wonderful man, who gave generously of his time to all. We remember him fondly in Thomond Orienteers organising orienteering events in Cratloe, Fanore, Ballyhourigan and Knockaphunta. His enthusiasm was contagious, we were privileged to have known him. May he Rest in Peace.

He was an inspiring person, always positive, enthusiastic and approachable and I was privileged to serve with him on the IOA Committee and to have been involved with him in various orienteering activities.
