My deepest sympathies to the McMahon family at this difficult time. I was a student in St. Flannan's College in Ennis and Fr. Joe was both my religion teacher and Guidance Counsellor over different periods of time there. I also had the pleasure of attending Irish College in Colaiste Laichtin in Inis Oirr whilst Fr. Joe was teaching there. I will never forget listening to the 1995 Munster Final on a radio on the beach in Inis Oirr with Fr. Joe and numerous other Clare people. I always found him to be a kind, gentle soul and will never forget him. May he Rest In Peace.

Condolences to Martin and the family on the passing of your brother

We are devastated to lose Fr Joe. He was always so kind to our kids in particular the altar servers who he would introduce by name at the start of every Mass. These things mean a lot to children. There was a deep sense of loss when news of his passing broke. We will miss him so much. He loved it here in Scariff and Feakle and East Clare and we appreciated him. He is with our Heavenly Father now. Sending condolences to his loving
