Sincere sympathies to the Mc Namara family
I came to know via my Ph.D. supervisor (Dr. Norah Power, Limerick) that the secret beneficiary when paying my Ph.D. fees was Fr. Leslie MCNAMARA in 2015. I always prayed for him as he helped me get my fees paid enabling me to get a job and feed my family in Ireland and until now.

I am confident in saying that even though I never met him he was a wonderful, kind-hearted, and loving person. He cared not only about me but for my family. I wish I knew it earlier and would have met Fr. Leslie in person. Unfortunately, I couldn't.

I cannot say enough thanks for just writing a few words. We all family can only say may GOD bless his soul. Rest In Peace (RIP) Fr. Leslie.

We as a family convey our heartfelt condolences to all of the McNamara family. May GOD give you the strength to cope with this irreparable loss, Amen.

May GOD bless the whole McNamara family (amen).

Sincere sympathies to the family of Father Leslie. I remember him teaching computers to first year boarders in his own time.
Our most sincere condolences for the McNamara family. We met Father Leslie as a visiting priest in California and our sons were honored to serve as Altar boys for him. It was always lovely to get to have him at our parish, we are all richer for it and we all looked forward to his stays. Father Leslies homilies were always soul filling and insightful and kindness poured out of him when he spoke to my young sons. What a man of dignity and Grace. May God Bless his soul.

The most important day in all my life was the one on which my dearest teacher as well as my best friend, Leslie McNamara, came to me. Over the past 15 years or so, he had taught me so many things and had been like a grandfather to me. I'm truly blessed to have him in my life. No matter where he is, there'll always be a special place for him in my heart. May Les experience newness at its fullest level when he reaches Heaven.
You are the greatest teacher and the best friend of mine in my life. It's so hard to hear and accept the news that you left us. I will never forget you and the days with you in Nanchang and Ireland.
Deepest sympathy to the McNamara family. With deep regret that I learnt the heart-breaking news. May he rest in peace in heaven. He will be much missed. An excellent teacher, a wise person and a true gentleman.

My sincere sympathies to all the Mc Namara Family on the death of Fr Leslie.
I have fond memories of Fr Leslie as a pupil in St Munchins College Henry St. and afterwards at St Muncins College Corbally where he taught.
Leslie was a keen supporter all sports and academic activities in the college both as a teacher and as President.
Beannacht De Lena Anam dhilis.
We would like to offer our sincere sympathy to Father Leslie's family. We have very fond memories of Leslie. When we arrived in Nanchang University in 2012 he made us very welcome and shared all his teaching resources and experience of teaching in China with us. He said the Sunday Mass for us and then he would take us in his car to one of his favourite restaurants where we would have lunch together.
We have no hesitation in saying that our very positive experience in this 'Chinese adventure' was in no small measure due to Leslie's generosity and counselling.
Leaba i measc na naoimh agus na n-usail uile go raibh aige.

I wish to add my condolences to all Leslie's family, colleagues and friends. I was a classmate of his in Maynooth from 1960 till 1965.. I remember him so well as a very kind, friendly and intelligent man. He was awarded his B.Sc in 1963 'with distinction' - an extremely rare occurrence. I am aware of his very distinguished career subsequently. May he now rest gently in peace, and have his well earned reward..

I knew him as a boy in St Munchin"s College and afterwards as a fellow student in Maynooth.
He was a dear friend all my life and I will miss the visits, the phone calls and the texts of recent years. He was an inspiration to me by virtue of his integrity ,his humility ,his wisdom , his humour and his very deep faith.
Our conversations ranged over many issues from rugby to literature , to philosophy to politics to theology and above all to faith in practice.
His had a deep and inspirational faith coupled with a great charity, committment and a wonderful sense of social engagement.
I have no doubt but that he is now enjoying the vision of God

Sincere sympathy to Fr. Leslie's family on his passing. Leslie served our Salesian Community faithfully for many years. We appreciated his short but very pithy sermons, his kind and gentle way, his fidelity to us, visiting our sisters when they were in hospital or nursing homes, always attnding our funerals, present too for many of our celebrations and always with a smile despite what was often a busy schedule behind the scenes. Fr. Leslie's spirituality shone through despite his humle and retiring way. Thank you, Fr. Leslie & may you now rest in peace & joy. Sr. Bríd F.M.A.

Sincere condolences to the McNamara family and to Fr.Leslie's close friends. Those who were fortunate to know Fr. Leslie were touched by his kindness, gentleness and generosity. As President of St.Munchin's College, Fr. Leslie taught many of us, who were young, inexperienced teachers that true teaching involved far more than just imparting knowledge. He showed empathy to all in his care, both staff and students. As our leader, Fr. Leslie was utterly respected and our aim as teachers was to please him. He had a huge impact on my professional career and I am grateful to have known such a moral and honorable gentleman. Rest in Peace Fr. Les.
