An ever present and gentle presence in our Church, he ministered to all, demonstrating the great love of Christ that he so often spoke of so eloquently.
He will be missed in our Community and we will treasure the great insights he gave us of the beautiful countryside around Louisburgh on the many enjoyable trips we made in his genial company.

My sincere condolences to Archbishop Francis, Archbishop emeritus Michael, the priests of the Archdiocese of Tuam, parishioners of the parishes where Father Oliver served, family and friends on the passing of Father Oliver. I was most fortunate to have encountered him on a number of occasions and found him to be a warm and friendly person and despite his challenges he experience his Faith and trust in the Lord certainly sustained and strengthen him. May his Soul Rest In Peace

Sorry to learn of Fr Oliver's passing. I recall being a room mate of Ollie's in St Patrick's Maynooth when both of us along with others started to study for the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Tuam in 1970. He was such a lovely person, shy but very friendly. I left Maynooth in 1971 and since then often wondered where Fr Oliver was stationed. Sincere sympathy to his siblings and extended family and friends, Archbishop of Tuam and fellow priests. May his gentle soul now rest in eternal peace in the hands of Our Lord.
