So very sorry to hear of the passing of Fr Owen. He was such a good friend of the Mahony family, celebrating marriages, christenings and many other occasions with us over the years. He will be very sorely missed by all of us for his kindness, humour and great sense of fun.
My sincere condolences to the McKenna family. Fr. Owen was a constant calming, gentle presence for so many family events over the years. He officiated my wedding and christened both my children as well as nieces and nephews. What a lovely, kind, generous soul. May he Rest In Peace.

Sad to learn of Fr McKennas death. He was a most inspiring Priest. Was a great friend to grandmother who was a long term resident at St Francis convent Home Blackrock for a number of years. RIP.

We were very saddened to hear of the death of our dear friend, Fr Owen. Our sympathy is with his devoted niece, Miriam, the McKenna family and the S M A community in Ranelagh. Fr Owen served us well in Muckross Park Convent for many years and we were blessed to have him for Sunday Mass and many other occasions. He was very sad when he heard that Muckross Park Convent was closing. We were delighted with his visits to us in Sion Hill which we all enjoyed and appreciated. . We were saddened to read of the passing of Fr. Owen, a wonderful warm kind and holy priest. His sermons always touched my spirit. We were so blessed to have him as our spiritual director in the Legion of Mary in his parish, Blackrock. He was so welcoming to our group who came from different areas and we witnessed his untiring dedication to his parishioners at all levels. I was honoured when he accepted my invitation to our wedding. He is now in the presence of the Lord and His Blessed Mother Mary whom he served so well. May you rest in peace Fr. Owen. It 🙏

So sorry to hear of Fr. Owen's passing. Fr. Owen was Chairperson of the Board of Management of Crab Lane N.S. when I was Principal there. I will be eternally grateful to Fr. Owen for his support, kindness and empathy. He was an intelligent, warm and generous man who had time for everyone, regardless of how busy he was.

We extend our deepest sympathy to his niece Miriam and all Father Owen’s relatives and his Colleagues and friends in the SMA. Fr. Owen was our great special friend who introduced us sixty years ago. Our friendship continued through all the years even during his many years in Nigeria. He was blessed with many gifts which he used untiringly for all with whom he came into contact.

Fond and grateful memories of Fr. McKenna. He was Parish Priest at Blackrock Road and ministered to my family at time of bereavement with outstanding kindness. He was very dedicated to his parishioners and worked to build up the new parish from his appointment in 1988. Exemplified the SMA charism at home and overseas. God reward him for his priestly work.
